I was one of the lucky photo bloggers who got to cover the Sisig Fest in Angeles Pampanga as media. “Sisig” as they call it in the Philippines and a very famous dish in Pampanga. It also captured the taste of the CNN reporter and Celebrity Chef Anthony Bourdain, who love to eat street foods and other exotic dishes. Bourdain praised the sizzling, crispy pork dish, usually made from parts of pig head and liver, as “the brightest, best hope for a representational, advanced team.”
“I think sisig is perfectly positioned to win the hearts and minds of the world as a whole,” he added.
The Sisig Fiesta of Angeles city showcased its culinary skills on creating different versions of sisig last April 29,2017. This event occurs every year, so don’t worry if you didn’t make it this year there is always next year. The event took place at the Old train Station of Angeles City, where the locals call it “Crossing”. A lot of Angeleños and foreigners gather and witness the event, they have street dancing, cooking contest and of course free sisig.
If you want to eat authentic and original recipe of sisig and where Anthony Bourdain first tried it you can go to Aling Lucing Sisig.
